Jackson Family Vacation

Ooops! Scroll down to view from beginning of the week . . .
Everyone who was there the last night, but Keith who was taking the picture.

We had a great week and can't wait to go back in September with our friends, the Johnstons!

While on a bike ride one morning, we discovered a new boardwalk they had built along the sound, complete with a public boat ramp. We all went back later that night to explore and watch the sunset. It was so pretty, and Isaac liked to run along the path, while Abigail loved putting her hands in the water. The water was so warm . . . it literally felt like bath water.

Several night we went out for ice cream at a little shop on the sound, and were able to watch the sunset. So pretty!

A Jackson family vacation wouldn't be complete without plenty of bike rides! Isaac loved riding his bike and is getting better every day. We were so happy that Abigail loved riding in the trailer - she sat so peacefully in there, sometimes taking a little nap.

Ready to go!

Gettin' messy in the sand!

The last day the wind changed to a sea breeze and despite the sunshine, it was cold.

Mommy and Abby snuggling under the towels with our sunglasses. Keith, the kids, and Mom J. got me a new pair for a Mother's Day/ early birthday present. I love them!

Oreo snacking on the beach. Glad I brought milk in the cooler that day.

The kids loved to put their chairs right where the waves would come in - notice Abby expression in the first pic - the water was coming fast and higher than she expected - and it was COLD!

Pizza on the beach. It was sooo good! I really think that I gained about 10 pounds while we were there . . . I am dreading my appointment this next week for the "official" weigh in. I know from experience that it is me gaining the weight - not the baby.

So handsome!
Abigail loves shumpin' (jumping) in the waves.

The Beach!
We were so blessed with beautiful weather most of the week. It was rainy/cloudy only one day and the rest of the week 80-90 degrees and sunny. Even though the water was cold the kids were still able to enjoy "swimming" in the waves. Back at the house they had just opened the pool and by mid-week it was warm enough to swim in - Isaac enjoyed both the "cold" pool and the "hot" pool.

The next morning we went to get some coffee at our favorite coffee shop, Duck Cottage. In the pond next to the shop were a bunch of turtles swimming around. Pop pop and Nana took the kiddos to explore!

Jackson Family Vacation

For the first time, we decided to go to the Outer Banks in May (before baby arrives). Keith's parents rented a house in Duck (one that we've stayed in before), and we went down the first weekend in May. Keith's brother Kenny was able to come down for the whole week, and his brother Kyle and his wife Lindsay were able to come for half the week. We had a wonderful time and are so grateful to had time together before things get crazy with the baby coming.

Leaving in the morning

Checking out the beach after we arrived. The water was cold, but seemed to warm a bit as the week went on.
So happy to be there!
