Duck, OBX '09

So I didn't post every day like I had planned. Here are some highlights from the rest of our week!

Taking a rest on Nana's bed with his Leapster.

Swimming in our pool. We did this almost everyday after we went to the beach. For the adults it was so nice to go out and read a book or take a nap while the kids rested after the beach. Very relaxing!

Keith and the boys playing at our very own "park" (Isaac called the swingset a park - so cute!).

We celebrated David's 4th birthday while we were there! Here he is blowing out his candle. Happy Birthday David!

Our favorite coffee shop, Duck Cottage. The coffee tastes sooo good, and there is a quaint little bookstore inside. We went there every morning for a cup of coffee, and twice were able to take a little walk along Currituck Sound (it was located just a few yards from the Sound). I haven't been able to drink coffee for a few months and really enjoyed drinking it again!

Duck Donuts. They made them right on the spot and were still warm. So delicious!! Also located right along the sound, so we enjoyed beautiful scenery with a yummy breakfast.

We had a great time on the beach!! We had great weather, and were able to go to the beach every day. Both Isaac and Abigail are beach bums and loved the sand and the water.

On Thursday we went to a state park called Jockey's Ridge. We go every year and try to get some nice pics since it is so beautiful there. It sure is difficult to get a good picture with small kiddos, but we tried!

OBX Day 2

We had another great day today in Duck, NC. I am feeling a bit better today and was able to participate in all of todays activities (granted, I was in my beach chair, but in my mind that is still participation : ). I am so grateful for Keith and Mom J. helping me with the kids, meals, laundry etc. . . What a blessing to be able to rest from surgery knowing that your kids are happy, and having a great time with two of their favorite people!

This morning we visited our favorite coffee shop, "Duck Cottage". The coffee shop is on a little board walk along sound and we took a little stroll with the kids and Nana (a very slow walk, with me in tow). The following picture was taken this morning on our walk.

Believe it or not, this is the only picture we took today : ( Again, check Sarah and Dave's blog for more pics of today. Hopefully we'll take more tomorrow!

OBX Day 1

We've had an interesting couple of days here in the Jackson home. I (Lindy) have had persistent nausea since the end of May, as well as a few other symtoms (I'll spare you the details). To make a really long story short, I ended up having my gall bladder out on Friday. I stayed overnight at Christiana hospital and was released yesterday (the day we were supposed to leave for the Outer Banks).

Anyway, we left later than expected and were so grateful that Keith's Mom agreed to come down for a few days to help us (I am still very, very sore and on strict docters orders not to lift). This morning we were able to go to the beach for a few hours, then lunch and an afternoon at the pool. Thanks to Keith and Mom Jackson taking the kids for me, I was able to rest on a hammock overlooking the pool. Not a bad way to recover!

We are looking forward to a great week, and I am hoping to take many more pictures to post!

David, Owen, and Isaac playing in the sand together.

Nana and Abigail enjoying time together : )

For more pictures, check out Sarah and Dave blog (Sarah took many more than we were able too)
