OBX: Day 4

Dip in one of the two hot tubs at our beach house. We know that you aren't supposed to put small children in a hot tub, so we made sure the water wasn't too hot. David and Isaac liked the bubbles that the jets made.

OBX: Day 4

This afternoon we went to the indoor community pool. Isaac really loved this pool because there was a kiddie pool he could use.
Abby took a nap on one of the chairs while her brother was swimming.
Isaac loves playing with his Daddy!

OBX: Day 4

Ethan's Mommy, Maura, brought crafts for the boys to make during "down time." Isaac is working with Daddy to make a door hanger for his bedroom. Thank you so much Maura for serving all the boys in this way, and making our vacation even more special!!!

OBX: Day 3

After dinner we walked to an ice cream shop in town (Duck, NC). David and Isaac rode in the stroller, while Abigail and Owen enjoyed the baby bjorns (see below).
Abby Jane and "Owie" bring such joy to their mommy's!

OBX: Day 3

One goal for this week is to get a picture of Abby Jane smiling. So far this is the closest I've come to capturing her smile.

OBX: day 2

Ethan, David, and Isaac sitting in the hole Keith dug.
"The Plantation"
Keith started a new vacation tradition today. He took us all to the beach after dinner, encouraged each of us with evidences of God's grace, and blessed us with presents! Isaac got a new train "Fergus," and Keith bought me a new cookbook that I've been wanting.

OBX: day 1

We arrived at the Outer Banks today and hit the beach prior to sunset. It is absolutely beautiful down here, and the house we are staying in, called The Plantation, is amazing. We are here with our great friends the Johnstons and VanBerkoms. The weather is supposed to be superb. As we were driving down, Lindy and I were reflecting on God's kindness to us. First in saving us from our sins, then giving us each other, blessing us with Isaac and Abby, a phenomenal local church, and great friends, his goodness is mindboggling. We are planning on posting a picture everyday we are down here, so keep checking in on us. (In case you were wondering, that red spot on Isaac's forehead is a scab. He fell down the stairs a two days ago. But he is strong "like Josh" in the Bible, so he is okay).

Two Month Check-Up

Abigail Jane's Two-Month Percentile's (her appointment was on her actual 2 month birthday, 9/19!)

Weight: 75th (11lbs, 10 oz!)
Length: 50th
Head Circumference: 30th

What broke the windshield?

Isaac's head broke the windshield. Keith was moving one car out of the garage and putting the other one in, and Isaac rode with him in the passenger seat. Isaac asked for "drums", so Keith turned on the music. Isaac began to dance and his head hit the windshield.
His head was totally fine; not even a bump.
The windshield was not so fine, and we had to get the whole thing replaced.

Trip to the zoo . . . again

The last time we went to the zoo (in May) we bought a membership because it was only a little bit more than one-day passes for our family. We took adavantage of our membership a few weeks ago, and Keith's parents were able to come with us! Isaac was so much more interested in the animals this time. When he saw the crocodiles, (or alligators, I don't remember) he told Nana, "I no go in that wawa, I no go in there." He did however want to jump in with the penguins. In the picture above Isaac is waving at a rhino.
Isaac and his Nana.
Isaac got hungry from feeding the animals at the children's zoo, so we stopped for some goldfish.

Football Season

So, football season started a few weeks ago, a we got together with a few friends for the Eagles game. Our friends Dave and Sarah were there with their two boys David and Owen. Owen and Abigail are "playing" on Owen's play mat. Abigail loves Owen's play mat . . . much more than her own, in fact!
David brought his trains, and Isaac LOVES to play with trains. In the picture Isaac is playing with "Cranky" the crane. Don't tell Isaac, but we already purchased Cranky for him for Christmas!

Costco

No, I do not have any teenagers at my house. All this food is for our little family of four (only three that eat solid food).
Can you believe that Costco already is stocking toys for Christmas?
